MATV has just launched a series of “how-to” training videos that will show volunteers and residents how to set-up and use the studio’s equipment. We tried to make them fun, too. If you’re curious, visit our website, www.miltonaccesstv.org, and navigate to the OnDemand page to check them out. Maybe you’ll even get inspired to get involved!

On a new episode of “A Fuller Life,” resident and civil rights pioneer Elaine Pinderhughes reads from her personal memoir reflecting on actions she took long ago to push equal rights forward, and how that has affected her life. Following, the show takes a look at the myriad and varied paintings of resident and prolific artist Myrtle Flight, who talks about her craft, inspirations and techniques. Tune in for this program as it airs Wednesday evenings, at 8 p.m., as well as Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m., all on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).

“Step Inside Your Center for Living” is new this week, with a presentation from a new senior living community that is right down the road. In addition to this information, you’ll also get the rundown of all the events coming up at the Milton senior center during the month of October. This new episode is currently airing Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. and Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).

Did you know that smoke detectors only last 10 years? And did you know that the town has a program that will replace yours for free? Fire Chief Jack Grant and Fire Lt. Mitchell Sumner recently came to the Council on Aging to talk about smoke detector as well as carbon monoxide detector safety, as well as some other helpful fire prevention tips in the home. Tune in for this important but brief presentation as it airs on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
