Kristina Tsipouras Miller is a serial entrepreneur, and she is the latest guest on the “Broad Appeal” set. Founder of the business networking and educational group Boston Business Women as well as a widely-distributed natural beauty product line called Moroccan Magic, this resident talks with host Melissa Fassel Dunn about the winding journey that found her setting out on her own, and what it took to learn how to not just start a company but to make it thrive. Tune in when this program airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 a.m. on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
Gigi Giraffe and the kid crew are packing up the wagon and heading to the beach to celebrate the arrival of summer. With Mel behind the wheel for a new episode of “Actin’ Up with Mel and Gigi Giraffe,” cruise on over for some fun in the sun, with oceanside sign language and some silly stories. And did you know Gigi once had her own rock band? Tune your dial to the Public channel seven days a week at 3:30 p.m., and Monday through Thursday at 7:30 a.m., to get the scoop.
Tayo Aluko’s performance of his original, award-winning theatrical composition “Paul Robeson: The Giant in a Nutshell” recently closed out the Milton Community Concerts season, with Aluko portraying the world-renowned Robeson, a renowned singer, actor and civil rights activist of the mid-20th century, in a one-man show equal parts drama and concert, and featuring accompaniment on piano by concert series director Tim Steele. This program is currently airing on Tuesday evenings at 8:30 p.m. on the Public channel.
What kind of book translates well to film? And how does it get taken from one medium to the other? Jump inside that process on a new episode of “It’s All Write with Suzette,” with guest John Fahey, an entertainment industry veteran who is leading the charge to get former Boston Mayor Ray Flynn’s co-authored fictional page-turner “The Accidental Pope” turned into a movie. This show is currently airing on the Public channel Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m.
