A vigil was held August 17 on the Town Green in response to the recent events in Charlottesville, Va. The Board of Selectmen partnered with the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association, Milton Persists and other community organizations to host this event. Part of a statement released by the town announcing the vigil stated, “No demonstration should involve violence and there is no place in our country for the kind of hate we saw in Virginia.” A recording of the proceedings is currently airing at 8 p.m. on Monday evenings, as well as at noon on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, all on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
Showmanship and harmony were both on display at the town gazebo concert this past week, as Riverside Theatre Works’ performance groups Mixed Emotions and Sweet Harmony brought their choreographed snazzy style of show tunes and pop favorites to the Summer Concert Series. There aren’t many of these left, so tune in on Thursday evenings at 5 p.m. on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
“You’ve Got To Have Art” is rerunning host Jeff Stoodt’s interview with the late musician Michael Johnson, who recently passed away. Tune in for a performance from this exceptional singer-songwriter and a look back at his legacy when this program airs on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13) Thursdays at 4 p.m., Mondays at 1 p.m. and all weekend long, also at 1 p.m.
