Here’s what’s new on MATV this week:

“The Price You Pay,” an original, live-action play performed and written by teenagers in the early stages of recovery from drugs and alcohol was recently put on by Drug Story Theater, Inc., and hosted at the MHS auditorium as the latest installment of the Parent Speaker Series. This powerful piece of educational theater features people who have first-hand experience living through substance abuse talking about prevention and ways for parents to talk to their own kids about these issues. It is currently airing daily on the Education channel (Comcast 22/RCN 15) at 9 p.m.

For parents with children who will have turned 5 years old before Sept. 1 of this year, the Milton Public Schools recently held its Kindergarten Information Night where staff and administrators outlined details of the program that will be offered by the district during the 2019-20 school year, as well as important information such as the registration timeline. Tune in for this program when it airs daily at 7 p.m. on the Education channel.

“Super Tuesday: Talk TV into Action” host and creator Ron Bell steps into the MATV Creator Spotlight this month. A lifelong activist and professional political campaign manager, this MATV producer discusses his background, how he got his show started and what his views are on the role that public access television has to play in society. This brief interview is playing at many times around our schedule of programs.

The public library has announced that “Hamilton: The Revolution” is the Milton Reads book for the year, and in this month’s library update, you can hear all about the events planned for the next couple of months to celebrate this annual town-wide reading event. Also find out about lots of February events for Black History Month, as well as some new additions to the Children’s Room. Tune in when this program airs Monday and Wednesday mornings at 7 a.m. as well as Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., all on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
