Upton Bell, former general manager of the New England Patriots and a longtime sports media figure, was the featured speaker at the recent Milton Library Foundation Literary Gala. He addressed his upbringing in the world of professional football, as well as recounted insider stories from along the way. Also tune in for some very colorful appearances from well-known Miltonians as the broadcast of this event airs on Tuesday evenings at 8:30 p.m. on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).

Curry College professor Dr. Grant Burrier is back with a timely new lecture titled “The Perils of Populism: Lessons from Latin America.” With 20th Century Latin America as the backdrop, this talk begins with a look at the origins of populism that arise as a response to oppression, and then moves on to how the momentum of the movement can carry it past service to the populace and become a tool for its own form of disenfranchisement. This talk is currently airing during the Monday Forum at 8 p.m. on the Public channel.
