MATV will broadcast the upcoming Special Town Meeting live on the Government channel (Comcast 8/RCN 3), as well as via our Video OnDemand service (click here), starting on Monday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m., including any subsequent evenings until the close of proceedings.

Prepare for the upcoming Special Town Meeting with an article-by-article overview discussion between Town Moderator Bob Hiss and Warrant Committee Chair George Ashur. The two town leaders recently stopped by the MATV studio to go over the warrant and put into plain English the items that are up for a vote this February 25. Turn your TV set to the Government channel at 7:30 p.m. every evening until Town Meeting to get up to speed in just a half-hour.

The Academy Awards are Feb. 24, but Oscar Night is already here on “Reel Talk with Eileen Maher.” Will “The Favourite” upset “Roma” for Best Picture, or will a dark horse take the prize? What are the politics at play that might determine many of the categories? Hear some interesting angles you may not have thought of from the town’s film buffs, including guest host Matt Bernstein, when this Oscar preview episode airs Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 8 p.m. on the Public channel.

The kids are at it again, with the completely student-run Milton High School Cabaret Part II. Jazz ensembles, solo performances, sketches, poetry, duets, trios, quartets and more are all part of this fun, light-hearted concert that is hosted and performed by the talented young artists of MHS. You can catch it seven days a week on the Education channel (Comcast 22/RCN 15) at 9 p.m.

Baby Boomers facing retirement and the important decision of when, if ever, to sell their home will find important and practical insight on the new episode of “It’s All Write with Suzette.” Author and financial planner Penelope Tzougros sits down in the MATV studio to talk about her book, “Your Home Sweet Home: How to Decide Whether You Should Stay or Move in Retirement,” and her process for evaluating if it’s a smart move for retirees to stay in their homes, looking at the question from physical, financial and social perspectives, as well as strategies to make staying put a possibility. This program is currently airing on the Public channel Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m.

The Milton Art Center is back with its monthly Open Mic showcase of local talent. Always a cradle of creativity, this new installment opens with a comedy sketch, followed up with music from local performers. Tune in at 8 p.m. during Music Thursday on the Public channel.
