Lifelong teacher and 11-year chair of the English department at Milton Academy, David Smith is the author of a new book, “Be a Teacher: A Memoir in Ten Ideas.” He joined host Suzette Standring on the latest episode of “It’s All Write with Suzette” to talk about his book, along with a discussion about his career and the craft of teaching. Tune in for this interview when it airs on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13) Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m.

The kid crew shows their friends at home how to make some creative valentines that incorporate sign language, and Gigi takes a trip to one of the most romantic cities in the world: Rome. Tune in for this brand new episode seven days a week at 3:30 p.m., and Monday through Thursday at 7:30 a.m., all on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
Host Jeff Stoodt covers the gamut of the performing arts spectrum in a new “You’ve Got to Have Art,” interviewing an opera singer as well as a stand up comedian. Mezzo-soprano Grace Allendorf talks about the upcoming Milton Community Concerts presentation, “Sing for Their Supper,” as well as her own group, Ensemble Lyrae; and comedian Mindy Mazur discusses what it takes to hone the craft of joke-writing, as well as how she started to pursue stand up later on in her career. This program is now airing on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13) Thursdays at 4 p.m., Mondays at 1 p.m. and all weekend long, also at 1 p.m., for this new episode.
Curry College’s Dr. Donna Dellolacono, a nurse practitioner at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, recently stopped by Fuller Village to discuss the science behind the top ten most frequently used herbal supplements, including their efficacy, side effects and medication interactions. This talk is currently airing at 5 p.m. during the Monday Forum on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
