Mid-August is an amazing time for fresh produce, and Connie Spiros has three fresh, easy and delicious recipes to help you get the most out of your garden’s or farmers market’s bounty. Bread and butter refrigerator pickles, a watermelon and feta salad, as well as sautéed sugar snap peas with pancetta are all on the “Meet Me in the Kitchen” menu, when this new episode airs on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13) Tuesday mornings at 11 a.m. and all weekend long at 7 p.m.
Stonehill College professor of sociology Corey Dolgon recently brought his unique musical lectures to Fuller Village, performing “Popular Folksongs of the 1950s and 1960s.” Singing and playing the guitar and harmonica, this expert on American culture presented a song-based examination of the folk scene based in New York City following the close of World War II. Tune in to listen to this piece of American history, as this program airs during Music Thursday at 6 p.m. on the Public channel.
