Our weekly local sports show, “Steppin’ Up to the Plate,” took a look at what Milton’s athletes are up to over the summer, stopping by the Wildcat Wellness Center at MHS to talk with the head of the high school’s strength and conditioning program, Ted Kackley, who runs the program. Join host Mike Vega while he goes inside the state-of-the-art weight room and training techniques that young athletes are using to reach their potential as this new installment premieres Thursday, Aug. 2, at 6:30 p.m. and then plays Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 5:30 p.m., all on the Education channel (Comcast 22/RCN 15). Also catch reruns weeknights at 6:30 p.m.

Resident Sheri Kaufmann, owner of Firefly Functional Wellness, is the guest on a new episode of “Broad Appeal.” Host Melissa Fassel Dunn talks with her about her transition from the world of advertising to becoming a health coach, specifically a functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner who helps people identify and treat the root causes of health issues in their lives. This program is currently airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 a.m. on the Public channel.
