(You can view all of the following programs on our Video OnDemand page by clicking here.)
Making its worldwide debut this week is MATV’s newest show, “A Nurse’s Knowledge, with Eileen,” a short five-to-ten-minute program that features important health information from a host (someone whom many MATV viewers will recognize) who has been a nurse for over 20 years. Each month, Nurse Eileen shares her expertise on a timely and vital area of medical and health knowledge. April is Diabetic Foot Care Health Month, and the host goes over the most important things to keep you or your loved ones’ steppers in good working order. Tune in to the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13) at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday evening, or just keep an eye peeled elsewhere around our programming schedule, to check out this new show.
This month’s Creator Spotlight focuses on “It’s All Write with Suzette” host Suzette Martinez Standring. Keep an eye out all around the MATV schedule for this brief testimonial to hear about how she started her long-running interview show that is all about writing, as well as some fascinating stories that happened along the way. And of course, you can visit our Video OnDemand page on our website to check it out, too.
And Suzette has a new episode out this week too, with “The Southie Pact” author Kevin Devlin sitting down to talk about his debut novel. A longtime newspaper writer in South Boston, Devlin decided to branch out to the fiction genre to tell a story about a group of friends that is both tragic and funny, dealing with the opioid epidemic. He talks about his book and the process of writing it in this new episode that is airing on the Public channel Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m.
A fresh “Broad Appeal” for the month features MZ Skincare owner Marianne Zullas, who is talking all about natural skincare. This business-owner shares her experiences of being an entrepreneur, including challenges and triumphs, as well as shares her expertise on the biggest pitfalls to avoid, plus some nuanced pro tips, if you want to keep your skin healthy. This program is currently airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 a.m. on the Public channel.
It’s the 10th anniversary celebration of the public library’s new wing, and they have planned a weekend full of events, including turning the whole library into a miniature golf course. There are lots of other things to keep your brain engaged, from lectures to concerts and more, plus book clubs for every taste, in this month’s “Page Turner” library update. Tune in when it airs Monday and Wednesday mornings at 7 a.m. as well as Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., all on the Public channel.
Rev. John Allen of First Congregational Church in Milton has a long history of humanitarian activism when it comes to immigration, and at a recent lecture at Fuller Village, he shared the story of how he came to be involved in this effort, as well as giving important factual information about this misunderstood and hot-button political area, including how the church is helping those who are caught in the middle. This talk is currently airing during the Monday Forum at 8 p.m. on the Public channel.
