Candidate Debate Airing
-The Milton Speaks Candidates Forum featuring candidates for contested town-wide offices took place on March 26th, and a recording of the event is airing every day at 10 a.m. on the Government channel (Comcast 8/RCN 3) until the Town-wide Election is completed on April 24th.
-You can also view it online 24 hours a day via our Video OnDemand service by clicking here.

Election Day for Town-wide offices will be held on Tuesday, April 24th.
MATV will broadcast the results of the election LIVE from the Office of the Town Clerk beginning at 8 p.m. on the Government channel (Comcast 8/RCN 3).

Annual Town Meeting

The first night of the Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday, May 7th.
MATV will broadcast Town Meeting LIVE from the Milton High School auditorium beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the Government channel
(Comcast 8/RCN 3).

Additional nights of Town Meeting will also be broadcast live on the same channel at the same time, until the completion of Town Meeting.

Discussing his acclaimed book “Dreaming the Beatles,” Rolling Stone magazine contributor, author and Milton native Rob Sheffield recently sat down for an on-stage interview with NPR music critic Amelia Mason for a fundraiser benefiting the Milton Library Foundation. Stick around after the interview for a performance from early-year Beatles cover band, Studio Two. This program is currently closing out the Monday Forum at 8 p.m. on the Public channel (Comcast 9/RCN 13).
Another operatic treat comes to town with “A Glimpse into the Future,” the latest installment in the Milton Community Concerts series. This performance features up-and-coming, graduate-level opera talent from the New England Conservatory of Music delivering arias, scenes from operas and musical theater favorites. Catch this concert as it airs on Tuesday evenings at 8:30 p.m. on the Public channel.
An expert with a doctorate in Russian Literature, UMass Boston’s Patricia Suhrcke recently led a discussion of the Milton Reads 2018 novel, “A Gentleman in Moscow,” with an audience at Fuller Village. Delve deeper into the textures and secret structures of this book being read town-wide, as this lecture airs at 5 p.m. during the Monday Forum on the Public channel.
The town’s public schools have many offerings in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. STEM Information Night was recently hosted by the school district, and parents with young children who want to learn about how these subjects are approached from the earliest grades onward can tune in when it airs at 8:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on the Education channel (Comcast 22/RCN 15).

Archaeology is an ongoing pursuit at the Wakefield Estate, and that’s what the latest installment of the Stone Soup Speaker Series is all about. The former director of the summer archaeology institute at the estate, Dr. Sara Belkin, surveys the findings from five years of digs on the site where an Irish tenant farmer family lived in town during the 19th century.
For parents with children who will be entering the first grade in the fall, the Milton Public Schools recently held its Grade One Information Night presentation, covering topics such as curriculum, various programs for first-graders, and registration.
Senegalese musician Mamadou Diop recently dropped by the Milton Public Library to put on a lively show for all ages featuring his signature West African-style drumming. The audience also got in on the act, and the kids at home can too, as this program, like the rest of out shows, can be viewed online OnDemand at any time.
Dr. Scott Lutch, a cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Milton, recently spoke at the Council on Aging about the vitally direct link between wellness and lifestyle. This presentation is currently OnDemand too!
American environmentalism in the past four decades, from Reagan to Trump, closes out Curry College professor Dr. Grant Burrier’s four-part lecture series on the subject from Fuller Village. If you’ve followed along so far, you won’t want to miss the conclusion of this course that finishes up with a look toward the future and where the human-environment relationship is headed.
For some two decades, Stephen Kurkjian covered the Gardner Museum heist as its top reporter at the Boston Globe. The author recently visited Fuller Village to speak about his book on the subject and the $500 million art theft at-large.
